I wrote this song around Halloween and there is a certain ghoulishness to it. You know that longing feeling when someone has broken up with you but you are not over the relationship? “Black Dress” is an eerie song about lovers who have been parted. One lover is drowning in waves of emotional loss. The other lover keeps reappearing like an apparition in a beautiful black dress. Is she really there or is she lost forever? What are hopeful fantasies? What is real?
